On-line CD shop with Czech classical music

Welcome to the Web site of the Musica bona music store. Our store is the only place on the Internet where you can find a complete selection of CDs and sheet music from Czech composers, musicians, and publishers.

Czech music
The Czech Lands have given the world a number of outstanding composers, some of whom are among the best known and most popular in international concert halls. The main Czech composers of the twentieth century have been Leos Janacek and Bohuslav Martinu, whereas Bedrich Smetana and Antonin Dvorak dominated the nineteenth century, and composers from the more distant past include Adam Michna of Otradovice, Jan Dismas Zelenka, and Josef Myslivecek.
The Czech Lands can also boast some world-famous ensembles (the Czech Philharmonic, the Wilhan Quartet, the Kühn Children's Choir, Schola gregoriana Pragensis, etc.), conductors (Rafael Kubelik, Vaclav Neuman, Jiri Belohlavek, Libor Pesek, etc.), and musical interpreters (mezzo-sopranos Dagmar Peckova and Magdalena Kozena, flutist Jiri Stivin, violinist Josef Suk, pianist Igor Ardasev etc.).
Prague and the Czech Lands as a whole have been among the top centers of European music since at least the Baroque (or, to be precise, since the reign of Emperor Rudolph II). Some Czech musicians took themselves off into the world, while composers from other lands, such as W.A. Mozart, came into the country and found fine working conditions here.

You save 30%, 40%, or even more!
The prices in our on-line store are at least 30% cheaper than typical prices throughout the world, and you'll find that many of our prices are half of normal prices - or even lower! Not only are these prices much lower than in 'brick-and-mortar' shops, they are also cheaper than those at the largest on-line stores such as Amazon or CDNow! Let's take new titles from Supraphon (the best-known and best-selling Czech CD label) as an example: in a normal store in the USA they will cost you USD 16.97, at CDNow! you'll find them for USD 15.99 + postage and packing, but we offer the same product for USD 11.61 or USD 12.90, including shipping! This difference is even more pronounced with sheet music and smaller labels - you'll often find yourself saving up to 50% by buying from us.
How is this possible? Other stores buy from local distributors, who themselves are just passing on what they have bought from the large importers, but Musica bona's CDs and sheet music come straight from the publisher, and we are often able to get a substantial bulk discount on top of that. Unlike other companies, Musica bona does not help put money in the pockets of distributors, and this lets us offer you the lowest possible prices.

Our guarantees
All products you buy from us come with a six-month guarantee covering damage or defects. We will either replace defective or damaged goods or give you a full refund. We also provide a special satisfaction guarantee: if, for any reason whatsoever, you are not happy with the CD or sheet music you have bought from us and return it within a month, we will be happy to exchange it for something else from our selection.

Delivery time
Your package will normally be sent within two business days, but no later than one week after we receive your order.
